End of life arrangements, expected or not, are overwhelming, confusing and difficult to sort through. Most of us don't consider our options until a time when we should be focused on grieving, not countless internet searches and uncomfortable phone calls.
That's where we come in — one simple directory where you can find everything you're looking for (and some you didn't know you needed).
We believe a healthy relationship with mortality helps create a fuller life and should start before someone is actively dying.

From the founder
Dedyet was born out of the complexity that comes with end of life. I'm Evanne, and I founded dedyet to help others better navigate funerals, caretaking and their own mortality so we can all focus on living.
My interest in this space began when I picked up a copy of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" by Caitlin Doughty, which led me down a rabbit hole of sky funerals, green burials, and human composting. I have since read many more books (recommendations coming soon), attended community events, and met so many amazing people in this space. I completed the INELDA Death Doula Training in 2021, but my real crash course came in the form of losing my dad a few years later.
Suddenly, the logistics and admin took over, and my brother and I were engulfed in searching for a funeral home in a city that wasn't our own, looking up estate liquidators, scheduling donations, and making countless phone calls to the DMV, lawyers in two states, and real estate agents.
Grief took a back seat.
It shouldn't be this hard. So I built dedyet to bring these resources together so you can focus on what matters.
